What is 3D iTero Scanning?
At St. Paul’s Square Dental Practice in Birmingham, we use iTero scanning technology for Invisalign, Cosmetic Dentistry and Composite Bonding.
Also known as Smile Simulation), the iTero allows the dentist to take a 3D digital scans of your whole mouth and teeth, without the need for gooey impression material.

How Does 3D iTero Scanning Work?
The iTero scanner is used to show you what your teeth could look like for Invisalign teeth straightening, even before you commit to going ahead with treatment.
The iTero scanner uses a laser to make precise digital impressions that can also be sent to our in-house digital CEREC machine for milling of a tooth restoration on the same day (eg: Crowns, inlays and onlays).
The iTero scanner is a huge leap forward in taking dental impressions using the latest 3D scanning technology.
Dental scanning is minimally invasive and with no dental impression material it is more comfortable.
In a short space of time, a 3D high-resolution digital image of your teeth is not only taken but will be able to view your dental treatment ‘before and afters’ in real time on a screen!
iTero Scanner also allows the dentist and yourself to track your dental treatment progress at every appointment.
